Accessories: Heavy Mettle
December 1, 2007
Founded by motorcycle enthusiast Richard Stark, Chrome Hearts is an American company that specializes in high-end fashion and accessories. Best known for chic jewelry and modish sunglasses, Chrome Hearts caters to an elite clientele with a keen eye for the unconventional. The Roller Belt ($4,500), for instance, is fashioned entirely of Italian sterling silver and black leather. Each silver-link actually rolls (hence the name) and the 925 number-detail branded into the clasps represents the high-quality metal content of 92.5 percent pure silver. The belt may seem impractical with a weight that is close to five pounds and a width of an inch-and-a-half, but its intricate design affords a fashionable fit and can be adjusted to anyone’s waistline.
Similar to Stark’s designs, Zeyner is a company that offers the best in striking accessories. The California-based brand established itself in June of 2006, and their bags and wallets are available at authorized dealers in more than 15 states and three countries. The Scarface bifold deluxe wallet ($150) is made of premium Nappa leather and lined with silk; the Zeyner crest and metal strips are shaped entirely of chrome. Other special features include a chrome ring for wallet chains and a removable ID case designed to lighten the load for track days and joy rides.
